If the Earl Grey you know is all bright bergamot snap, this is the softer one. Jasmine Earl Grey is Earl Grey (bergamot-scented black tea) laced with whole jasmine flowers, so the citrus perfume arrives wrapped in something floral and gentle on the nose. Drink it hot in the morning the way you would any Earl Grey, add a splash of milk for a mellow cup, or finish it with a squeeze of lemon. It brews the full black tea you expect, with jasmine rounding off the edges.

Blended in small batches in Portland, it pairs real bergamot, the fragrant citrus behind Earl Grey's signature scent, with jasmine flowers that open in the hot water and lift the aroma. The cup reads as classic Earl Grey first, floral second.

Ingredients: black tea, jasmine flowers, bergamot essence. Contains caffeine. No sugar, no preservatives. Naturally vegan.

Does Jasmine Earl Grey have caffeine?
Yes. It is built on a black tea base, so it carries the moderate caffeine of a black cup, more than green tea and less than coffee. That makes it a good morning or early-afternoon tea. For a lighter evening, keep the pour small.

How do I brew it?
Use one teaspoon per eight ounces of water. Heat fresh water to around 200 degrees F and pour it over the tea. Steep for three minutes, then strain. Use fresh leaves each time you brew.

Does milk or lemon work in it?
Both work. A splash of milk softens the black tea and plays up the jasmine for a creamy cup. A squeeze of lemon brightens the citrus side instead. Add one or the other rather than both, since lemon and milk do not sit well together.

How is this different from regular Earl Grey?
The base and the bergamot are the same. The jasmine flowers add a soft, floral top note that makes the cup feel a little more perfumed and less brisk. If you like Earl Grey but want something gentler, this is that version.
